You will trek chimpanzees and other primates in Nyungwe Forest National Park. Visit Lake Kivu. Have a life time experience with the gorillas, do the Bisoke Hike and golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park on these 8 days primate safari, a signature of Rwanda. Experience authentic Rwandan culture and community, canopy walk adventure, tea plantation experiences and other primates in Nyungwe forest National Park. This is a private tour. Day 1 : Arrival at the Kigali International airport.

On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be meet with a warm welcome by our company representative. Exchange some money in local currency then drive to the hotel for an overnight stay. Your professional guide driver will be at the airport ahead of time waiting for you. Transfer to the Kigali hotel. Enjoy hotel amenities. Dinner and rest.

Day 2 : City Tours with a Transfer to Nyungwe National Park - Nyanza.

After your breakfast, you will start your Kigali City Tour with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Later, you will be transferred to Nyungwe National Park, the home of chimpanzees. The journey south West passes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that characterize much of Rwanda’s landscape. Have your lunch along the way with a stopover at the Nyanza King’s palace. Continue with the drive to your hotel /lodge, check in and enjoy the property amenities. Relax all evening till dinner. Dinner and rest.

Day 3 : Forest National Park + Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk adventure.

On this day you will enjoy an early breakfast at your lodge before embarking on a thrilling hike in search of chimpanzee communities. The Rwandan chimpanzee population is thought to consist of approx. 400-500 individuals, confined to the Nyungwe National Park, including a small community in the Cyamudongo Forest. Prepare to hear these excitable primates before you see them, as their pant-hoots travel through the deep forest. During your hike you may also spot migratory birdlife including the Ross’ turaco, grey-cheeked hornbill, red-breasted sparrow hawk and regal sunbird. Return to the hotel for lunch then on the afternoon; proceed with the Canopy walk adventure for a more thrilling experience. Retire and enjoy property amenities. In the evening, relax at the lodge till dinner.

Day 4 : Nyungwe Forest National Park + Tea Plantation visit and transfer to Lake Kivu.

On this day you will enjoy an early breakfast at your lodge before embarking on a thrilling Tea plantation experience. This tea plantation experience is a fun activity around the park. You will enjoy more engagements with the local people. Learn skills of picking tea, take great plantation pictures. After these experiences, check out and transfer to the shore of Lake Kivu. Evening at leisure. Dinner and rest.

Day 5 : Boating, Coffee Experiences Crop to Cup - Volcanoes National Park (Musanze).

After breakfast, you will start your morning boat cruise exploring different islands located on the lake. On this day, you will drive to Volcanoes National Park the home of mountain gorillas, golden monkeys and several hikes. On your way have a stopover and enjoy the Rwanda coffee experiences at Kopakiki Cooperative. On arrival, spend your time at leisure enjoying property amenities at the lodge.

Day 6 : Volcanoes National Park for Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Experiences.

After an early breakfast, you will proceed to the home of mountain Gorillas, the Volcano National Park headquarters – Kinigi to meet your guides for the day. After completing our park formalities, we are embarking on a once in a life time experience of tracking mountain gorillas. Once you spot them you are allowed to spend an hour watching them do their daily activities. Return to your hotel for lunch or visit any other restaurant of your choice in Musanze town for lunch. Head out for an afternoon Cultural Experiences at the Gorilla Guardians former I’byiwacu Cultural Village. This place is fun with lots of Rwandan history and ancient stories. Feel free to take part in their traditional dance. Return to the hotel for relaxation. Later order for your dinner and rest.

Day 7 : Volcanoes National Park + Bisoke Hike experience + Ellen Campus visit – Relax.

On this day in the morning after breakfast, you will go to RDB Headquarters for briefing with a cup of Coffee or tea, you will join a group of tourists heading to the hike on the top of the Volcano where there is a beautiful crater lake. It takes 4 hours ascending and 2 hours descending. You will come back at the Hotel in time for lunch. Have some little relaxation at the hotel / lodge. You will later visit the Ellen DeGeneres campus of Dian fossey, the place is full of her stories and research work, you will enjoy very interesting Gorilla conservation stories in this campus. Evening at leisure. Have your dinner and rest.

Day 8 : Volcanoes National Park + Golden Monkey Trekking and departure.

On this special day, you will have the rare opportunity to observe the famous golden monkeys. You will depart for golden monkeys trekking to observe the famous Rwandan monkeys in the Volcanoes National Park. Spend an hour with them, and be back at the base in time for your early lunch, you will proceed to check out then you will be transferred back to Kigali, last minute souvenir shopping in Kigali city craft shops, depending on your flight details, drive to Kigali international Airport for your outbound flight back home.
